I upgraded to a slightly larger sized canoe as an alternative (twelve ft rather than 10) -- heavier at eighteen lbs as an alternative to twelve, but nevertheless a breeze compared to several canoes & almost all kayaks -- so I can nevertheless have into remoter lakes.
